This photo was taken yesterday as I was leaving my brother’s home. I wasn’t planning on taking pictures after snapping shots of my family; however, the sky was so beautiful I had to remove my Nikon D80 and capture what I saw.

This was our first snowfall in Maryland.  This picture was taken almost two weeks ago.  Although we didn’t receive as much as we wanted.  My daughter, Aiyana, and I had a blast playing in the snow.  Aiyana made snow angels and we had snowball fights.  We reluctantly went indoors where I made her a large mug of cocoa.  Perfect way to warm up after playing in the snow.

Whenever I’m at Lake Marion I find myself taking numerous pictures of the clouds.  This Thanksgiving I was able to take numerous shots of clouds.  My only regret is that I wasn’t able to take shots of the huge bales of harvested cotton.  I wasn’t able to get around  to that area hopefully next Thanksgiving I’ll be able to capture those pictures.

This was a truly beautiful scene even with the drought I was able to capture many beautiful photos. I’m hoping to add them to my photography website over the next few days. We had a wonderful time on our annual treck to Summerton, South Carolina. As always our view from the condo was truly breathtaking.

I took this photo yesterday much to our surprise my daughter an I discovered a few spotted cucumber beetles on our daisies.  They weren’t moving as much as they normally do.  I wonder if they were cold.  I was able to snap several pictures.   I loved the way this daisy looked.  It wasn’t perfect but it’s still beautiful.

I had a little visitor as I was taking pictures of the datura flower. Isn’t my visitor cute? It was fairly curious and kept a close eye on my as I took pictures of the flower and itself. After it had seen all it wanted to see it buzzed off to another datura flower. Perhaps this is one of the bees I have rescued from a night being trapped in the flower.

The datura flowers close in the evening time and if an unsuspecting insect is inside gathering nectar it will be stuck there until the flower opens the next morning. I have rescued numerous insects from these flowers.

I used my Nikon D80 to take this picture. The lens was a Nikon Nikkor 70-210mm 1:4 - 5.6. Photo editing was done in Aperture 1.5.

I love the Datura Flower not only does it have a lovely fragrance it sure is beautiful to look at. In the evenings the flowers close. If a bee or any other insect is in their collecting from the flower they are trapped until morning. The buzzing of the frantic bee usually alerts me to the fact that they are trapped inside the flower. I usually rescue them. The ones that I don’t rescue I’ll see emerging from the flower the following morning.

I used my Nikon D80 to take this photo. The lens used is a Nikon Nikkor 70-210mm 1:4 - 5.6. Photo’s were uploaded in Aperture 1.5. There was no editing that needed to be completed but I decided to add something extra. I uploaded this picture into Adobe’s Photoshop Elements 4 Mac version. I used the Impressionist Brush to blur the background.

This is another shot from this past Thanksgiving.  This is my daughter.  We were playing in my grandmothers yard.  I thought this was beautiful so of course I had to capture it.

I took this photo when I was in South Carolina last year.  This was the day after Thanksgiving, 11/25/06.  The colors on the trees were gorgeous. I never grew tired of taking their picture.  I took hundreds.  Our condo was on the waterfront and this picture was taken from our patio.  Truly lovely.
